Below are funding opportunities of interest that I have
learned about/received RFP notifications about in the past week that I wanted
to share.
Boating
Deadline: December
30, 2011
Key requirements of RBFF’s grant application guidelines include
introducing boating and fishing to minorities and underserved communities.
Special consideration is given to programs that:
- Offer
multiple on-the-water learning opportunities.
- Encourage
long-term involvement of participants.
- Foster
multi-generational participation, e.g., engaging seniors as youth mentors.
- Provide
adequate screening, selection and training of staff, instructors and
volunteers (including a criminal background check).
- Promote
conservation education and include at least one conservation experience
that actively engages participants in a hands-on activity.
- Provide
inclusive programming.
- Support
existing RBFF partnerships
Housing
Deadline: January 18,
2012
The
overarching purpose of the Lead Based Paint Hazard Control Program and the Lead
Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program is to assist states, Native
American Tribes, cities, counties/parishes, or other units of local government
in undertaking comprehensive programs to identify and control lead-based paint
hazards in eligible privately owned rental or owner-occupied housing, with the
exception that the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program is targeted
for urban jurisdictions with the greatest lead-based paint hazard control
needs.

The

Deadline: **The deadline to submit an application for the
2012 Conservation Assessment Program (CAP) has been extended to 11:59
pm on Thursday, December 15, 2011.**
All types of museums may participate: aquariums;
arboreta, botanical gardens and nature centers; art museums/centers; children’s
museums; historic houses and sites; history, science and natural history
museums; science technology centers and planetariums; specialized museums; and
zoos. Institutions with fully surveyed living animal collections (such as those
accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium
Association) may use CAP to assess the conservation needs of their non-living
collections only.CAP is designed to serve only those museums whose collections and facilities can be assessed in a two-day period. Museums whose collections and/or facilities cannot be surveyed within two days should apply for a general conservation survey grant through the Institute of Museum and Library Services’ (IMLS) Conservation Project Support program.
