Jobs
The ARAMARK
Building Community Innovation Awards recognize excellence in innovation
and programming by local community centers. These awards celebrate and
accelerate program models that are improving lives, supporting families, and
strengthening communities.
Launched in
2011, the Awards are hosted in partnership with United Neighborhood Centers of
America (UNCA) and the Alliance for Children and Families (Alliance ) and are open to affiliated members of
either of these organizations.
The
2012 ARAMARK Building Community Innovation Awards include a
leadership award and three Workforce Readiness-related programmatic awards. A
total of $100,000 will be granted by ARAMARK through the program.
The Peter
B. Goldberg ARAMARK Building Community Executive Leadership Award honors
one outstanding community center executive director/CEO for active voice and
leadership on behalf of community centers. Peter Goldberg served as President
and CEO of Families International (FI) from 1994 through August 2011. He was
passionate about nonprofit leadership and those who inspired others in this
movement. For the 2012 award, leaders will be nominated by their peers, and the
winner will be selected by an independent panel of judges. This award will be
presented with a $40,000 grant to the executive director’s community center.
In 2012 the
three competitive awards focus on Workforce Readiness, preparing people for,
and connecting them to jobs. Workforce readiness is a core strength of
community centers nationwide and is a primary building block for creating
opportunity and revitalizing neighborhoods. One winner will be selected in each
programmatic category to receive a $20,000 grant to accelerate the innovative
program recognized through the award.
